Roses wounds

'Roses wounds' is a series that documents the beginning and end of my life in Belgrade, and the progression of sorrow that follows it.
On the eve of my arrival in Belgrade, I got a rose from Sale, a rose seller who'll later become a seemingly ubiquitous part of my nocturnal movements. Our paths would cross, he'd give me a rose, we'd sing a song I usually didn’t know the words to. I'd ask how he's doing. He'd complain. Sale sold roses at night for 38 years. He sold them in cafes to the woozy romantics.
In the eight months in Belgrade before the Pandemic started and I made my way back to Užice, a whole lot happened. And these works are not about Sale. But they are about roses and the strange days of happiness and failure of happiness.
